My two younger sisters are just starting to get into makeup and constantly come to me for beauty advice. When I was discovering makeup, I watched YouTube videos that were full of product suggestions to learn what I should try out. Overtime, I have discovered quite a few makeup products, drugstore and high end, that I really like. I decided it would be a good idea to share my version of a starter makeup kit for beginners! These are the products that I have found easiest to use and would definitely recommend for people who are starting out. I included all drugstore products so they would be easy to find and less expensive than higher end products!
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream
This is my favorite for summer, when I don’t want as much coverage. This is also perfect for summertime because it has SPF.
This would be my favorite full coverage foundation. This is what I use everyday in the spring/fall/winter when I am wearing makeup. It is easy to apply and long lasting!
NYX Concealer Jar
This is perfect for beginners because it is only 5 dollars. It works well and can also be used as an eyeshadow base!
This is the powder I have used and loved for years! It is perfect for all skin types, and really works to keep your skin matte through the day.
NYX Powder Blush
This product comes in lots of shades and is only 5 dollars!
Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Shadow
This is great to use as a base for shadows or even just as a lid color by itself!
Wet n Wild Trio: Walking On Eggshells & the Maybelline Nudes Palette
Both of these have great shadow choices for beginners. The trio is only $3 and the palette is under $10!
Maybelline Master Drama Cream Pencil
Eyeliner is very difficult to master… I struggled forever when I started wearing makeup trying to draw a semi-acceptable line. I think one of the key things for me was finding a cream eyeliner that made the process go a lot more smoothly. Practice and patience is definitely the key to mastering eyeliner!
Maybelline Falsies & Covergirl Lash Blast
There you have it: my recommendations for a starter drugstore kit. Enjoy and let me know what products you recommend for beginners!
