It is hard to believe that a new semester is fast approaching. For me, it is even weirder to imagine that this is my final semester of undergrad. Over the last three and a half years, I have developed somewhat of a “new semester routine” to start the semester off properly that I wanted to share with you today.
Clean everything from your room to your computer files. I love starting the new semester without clutter from the previous one. Once you’re finished cleaning, make sure you have your supplies ready and organized to tackle the next semester. One thing I like to do at the very beginning of the semester is use my syllabi to fill out my planner with upcoming due dates.
Finals are definitely stressful, and as great as it is to see family for the holidays, it can feel like you hardly had time to relax over “break.” Treat yourself to a Lush bath bomb and at-home spa day or get a manicure. Another way to unwind from the last semester would be hanging out with your besties. Go see a movie or grab dinner with a group of your friends. Start the new semester feeling refreshed and ready for anything!
Goal setting is obviously important to help you see what you’d like to accomplish each semester, and I even dedicated an entire blog post to the topic. It is important to be well rounded when goal setting, so don’t just focus on academic objectives. Think also about your health, hobbies, and future career when setting goals for a semester!
Those would be my top three tips on preparing to go back to school! Make sure you’re starting the semester refreshed by deep cleaning, relaxing over break, and setting goals.
